Check for maintenance
Look up your address on nbn®’s Network Status and Outages page and our Network Status page.
Note: If maintenance is scheduled, you’ll see an estimated time for the fix.
Restart your modem
Switch off the power at the outlet for at least 10 seconds.
Switch it back on and wait until the Internet light comes on.
Run a speed test.
Restart your NTD
If you have an nbn® FTTP connection, you can also restart your NTD (Network Termination Device), especially if you have recently changed your plan or speed.
Switch off the NTD at the power outlet and leave it off for at least 10 seconds.
Switch it back on and wait for the NTD’s status lights to return to normal before checking your connection again.
Run a speed test to see if your speed has improved.
Test wired vs Wi Fi
Check whether any devices are connected to your modem using an Ethernet cable. If those devices have normal speeds but Wi‑Fi devices are slow, proceed to Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Speed.
Check your cables
Make sure your modem’s Ethernet cables are labelled CAT6 or CAT5e.
Note: Replace any damaged, chewed, or old Cat5 cables.
Limit heavy usage
Your speed may slow temporarily if too many devices or applications are using the connection at once. For example, if one device is downloading a large file or streaming in 4K, speeds should return to normal once that activity has finished.
Note: If you need to use more devices or applications at the same time, you can upgrade your plan through the Yomojo Dashboard or call us on 1300 966 656 for assistance.
