We all rely on text messages every day. Whether it's an update about your mobile service, a payment reminder, or a one-time verification code, SMS is one of the quickest ways to stay informed.
Unfortunately, it's also one of the most common ways scammers try to impersonate trusted businesses.
That's why Australia's new SMS Sender ID Register, which came into effect on 1 July 2026, is an important step forward. It helps make it easier to recognise genuine business messages and harder for scammers to pretend they're someone they're not.
At Yomojo, your security is just as important as keeping you connected. That's why we're proud to be part of this initiative, giving you greater confidence that messages from us are genuine.
How to Identify a Genuine YOMOJO SMS
A Sender ID is the name that appears at the top of a text message instead of a mobile number. It's designed to help you quickly identify who the message is from.
When you receive an SMS from us, you'll usually see YOMOJO as the sender.
For SMS authentication, such as one-time verification codes, the message will come from +61 483 906 100.
If you see either YOMOJO or +61 483 906 100, you can be confident the message is from us. This includes account updates, service notifications, payment reminders and verification codes.
With the introduction of Australia's SMS Sender ID Register, registered Sender IDs help customers more easily recognise legitimate business communications while making impersonation scams more difficult.
YOMOJO will never ask you to share your password or banking details by SMS. If you receive a message asking for this information, treat it as suspicious and contact our support team directly to verify the message.
Stay Alert to Fake Messages
While the new Sender ID Register is a valuable layer of protection, it's still important to stay alert. Scammers may try to create Sender IDs that look similar to ours in the hope that customers won't notice the difference.
Our official Sender IDs are:
✔ YOMOJO
✔ +61 483 906 100 (used for SMS authentication)
Be cautious if you receive messages from names such as:
❌ Yomoho
❌ Yomoyo
❌ Yomoja
❌ Any other variation of YOMOJO
Although no system can prevent every scam, this extra layer of protection makes it easier to identify genuine YOMOJO messages. If you're ever unsure about an SMS, don't click any links. Instead, contact our support team to verify it's genuine.
Simple Ways to Protect Yourself
Keeping your account secure doesn't have to be complicated. A few simple habits can make a big difference:
Never share your password, one-time verification codes or personal information by SMS.
Don't click links if you're unsure who sent the message.
If you're ever uncertain whether a message is genuine, contact the YOMOJO support team before replying or clicking any links.
We're always happy to help you verify whether a message is really from us.
